About Union Academy

Union Academy is an inclusive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Kickboxing gym located in Manchester. Affiliated with Parrumpa (American Top Team), it offers a friendly, beginner-oriented environment with options like women’s-only BJJ and evening classes. Founded in 2013, the academy emphasizes accessibility, technical training, and strong community values.

• “I started training here a few years ago as a complete beginner and can say it’s the most welcoming and clean gym in Manchester. It has a community feel to it. They also maintain the space very well. The coaches John and Jamie are both super friendly and nice, and everyone who goes there are as well. Whether you’re a beginner or very experienced, you’ll learn a lot from every single class. They teach you lots of techniques and body mechanics, not just about who can punch or kick the hardest.”
